According to the book "Complementary and Alternative Therapies in the Aging Population," chamomile has been used traditionally for centuries as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, mild astringent, and healing medicine.
It can be used internally to treat a range of ailments, from wounds to digestive discomforts. Externally, it soothes skin irritations and eye disorders.
Stress and sleeping problems often go hand in hand. Chamomile acts as a sleep tonic, calming nerves and reducing anxiety. It's a natural remedy for restlessness, nightmares, and insomnia.
Traditional Chamomile Remedies
- Chamomile Oil: Break some Chamomile tea bags and empty the flowers into a small bottle. Cover the contents with olive oil. Keep a tight lid on the bottle and put it under the sun for 2 weeks. After that, store it in the refrigerator and use whenever needed. Warm the amount of oil you're going to use before massaging it on your skin.
- Chamomile Steam Bath: Simmer 4 tea bags of Chamomile in 4 cups of distilled water for 5 minutes. Place the Chamomile Tea in a large bowl. Cover the lid with a heavy bath towel and hold your face about 8 inches above the bowl for 12 to 15 minutes at a time
- Chamomile Concentrate: Place 10 bags in a litre of distilled water. Boil for 5 minutes, then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Chamomile Enema Solution: Dilute 1 glass (250ml) of the Chamomile Concentrate with 2 glasses (500ml) of distilled water. The solution must be at body temperature. Retain for 15 minutes.
- Chamomile Implant: Take 1/2 glass of the Chamomile Concentrates then implant into the colon using NewLife™ enema bag or an enema bucket.
